Privacy Policy
Effective April 22, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how QuietCam (“QuietCam,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information when you use the QuietCam mobile application (the “App”) and this website at getcovert.app. We designed QuietCam to collect as little as possible. Your photos and videos never leave your device unless you choose to export them.
What stays on your device
All photos and videos you capture with QuietCam are stored locally on your iPhone. They are not uploaded, backed up to our servers, or shared with anyone. If you choose to export a capture to your Photos library or share it through another app, that action is initiated and controlled by you.
Permissions we request
- Camera. Required to capture photos and videos inside the App. Nothing is sent off-device.
- Microphone. Required to record audio when you capture video. Nothing is sent off-device.
- Photo Library. Only used when you choose to export a capture.
- Face ID / Touch ID. Used locally by iOS to unlock captures you have chosen to protect. We never see your biometric data.
Information we do collect
To run the App as a small business, we use a limited set of third-party tools:
- Anonymous analytics. We use PostHog to understand how features are used (for example, which screens are visited and which actions commonly fail). Events are associated with a random device identifier, not with your name, email, or Apple ID. We do not collect the content of your captures.
- Subscription management. If you purchase a subscription, the transaction is processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to verify the status of that subscription so we can unlock features on your device. RevenueCat receives an anonymous identifier and the subscription receipt — not your Apple ID or payment details.
- Diagnostic reports. If you email us a support request and choose to attach diagnostics, the email will include information such as the App version, iOS version, device model, and recent error messages. You always control whether to send.
What we do not do
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not show third-party ads in the App.
- We do not build profiles of you for advertising or marketing.
- We do not access your photos outside of an export you start.
Children
QuietCam is not directed to children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Your choices and rights
You can revoke camera, microphone, or photo library permissions at any time in iOS Settings. Deleting the App removes all locally stored captures and settings. Depending on your region, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of the limited data associated with your anonymous device identifier. To make a request, email chris.bogoev@icloud.com.
Security
Because captures stay on your device, their security is primarily protected by iOS and your device passcode / biometric lock. For analytics and subscription data, we rely on the security controls of our service providers.
International users
The App is available globally. The limited data described above may be processed in the United States and the European Union by our service providers. Where required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses for cross-border transfers.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, surface a notice in the App.
